“Remix” Masquerade Ball & Cosplay Competition

The SwanCon 2013 Masquerade Ball will take place at the convention venue, on the evening of Saturday March 30, and is free for all convention attendees.

The festivities will begin with the Cosplay Parade and Competition, which will take place in the restaurant foyer, beginning at 7:30pm sharp.

At the conclusion of the competition, we’ll move on to the Masquerade Ball itself in the Champagne Ballroom. There will be a dancefloor and DJ, drinks bar, professional photobooth and more. It promises to be a fun-filled evening of cosplay, music, revelry and great company.

Theme

The convention committee is excited to announce that the costume theme for this year is “Remix”.

It’s time to get creative. Think of a character, any character. Or think of two and mix them together. Reimagine them. Genderswap them. Take them to a different time, culture or genre. Give them a new look or a new personality. Do whatever you want. There are no rules except this – take something recognisable and change it.

We look forward to seeing what imaginative costumes our attendees can conceive. Get cracking and make sure you look the part!

Photo Booth

We are pleased to announce that local photographer Sandra Chung will be taking professional photographs in our Masquerade Photo Booth. Photos will be available for purchase at the following rates:

• 8×10 prints can be purchased for $20 each.
• Larger prints are price upon application.
• High Res 8×10 digital prints can be purchased for $15 ea, with a 15% discount for a set of 10.

Masquerade-Only Tickets

If you’re not attending Swancon but you’d like to come to the masquerade, you can buy a “Masquerade-Only” ticket from the reception desk on the night.

Tickets are $20 each and entry is from 7pm.
